Child Centered Care in Medicine Kids are Patients Too!

How to Get Kid's Services on your Institutions Agenda, and Keep it There.Again, it takes someone to take charge in their institution to establish this approach. They then will find several others who also believe, often without looking for them. This will help to build upon the learning's and propagate the workshops.
The patient-centered nature of care isn't going to go away, it's going to get more refined and become the norm. How do I know? I don't. I just have faith that focusing on those being served, as opposed to the institution servicing, is the natural order of things, and that the world always tends to move in that direction. Businesses that don't take care of their customers tend to go out of business. As we are all so keenly now aware, medicine is a business. The silver lining is - now we can start focusing on our customers, instead of our perceived capacities or limitations. Patient Centered Care is just the beginning. Culturally Sensitive Care is becoming well established. Hopefully Child Centered Care will soon be the norm for all children seeking care. Next we hope that there are special educational workshops and teams of professionals who care for the elderly, handicapped, and other people who have special attributes that make Patient Centered Care a unique challenge for them and their providers. This is only the beginning. Thanks for getting in on the ground floor. |
