So  you want to improve  your relationship with your most vulnerable and loyal patients.  You know that mom's make the family's healthcare decisions, and you want to make sure they leave happy.

Where do I start?:

  1. Review the Materials:
  2. Get energized about Child Centered Care
  3. Find the early adopters in leadership positions, show them the Child Centered Care Leaders PowerPoint, and sell them on the concept of meeting the needs of the children and the parents who have entrusted their care to your institution.
  4. Find child-like staff who already understand these principles, and enlist them to take a course
  5. Schedule a 1 1/2 to 2 hour workshop for the staff who are interested.  Ask leadership to kick off the workshop for you.  (Leadership counts...)
  6. Download our Child Centered Care for Medical and Support Staff, download and print the Child Centered Care Playbook if you so desire, and download, print, and laminate the Children's Team ID's for the staff who are attending.
  7. Hold the workshop, and train the staff on how to practice and speak "Childish".  Ask them to assess the workshop with our Assessment Tool and learn from this experience.
  8. Use your contacts in various departments and see what others are interested in this training
  9. Watch the snowball begin to roll down the hill
  10. Hold sessions regularly for new staff, and as refresher courses.
  11. Contact us at info@childcenteredcare.org and give us feedback on how we can improve this package for others.

Like we said - it doesn't cost money, it costs much more....   Are you willing to help make the medical experiences of children more child friendly?
