Funny you should ask....

Surveys done immediately after each workshop have demonstrated that staff very much enjoy and appreciate the experience, and come away w a better understanding of how to interact with children.  OK, so just about any course can say that.

So we asked over 100  participants from the first several workshops that were held over a 2 year period how they felt about taking care of kids, both before and after the workshop.  Over 50 responded.  This was well after the class, so the bias from the immediate enthusiasm, we figured, had probably abated by this time.

Here's what we found:

So People who are already good with kids, get a little bit better.

Those who are moderately comfortable, improve quite a bit

Thos who are uncomfortable with children to begin with, seem to loose their fear of this unknown, and are much more comfortable with children after taking this workshop.  This is up to 2  years out!

So - These techniques have demonstrated that they:

Improved the comfort level with children and the subsequent service as perceived by the staff members,

as well as

Reduced the variability of the quality of service experienced by the patients.

Sounds win-win to us!
