We've done so well without it, what's the big deal?

Well, you've heard of the National Institute of Medicine's Quality Chasm?  You've heard of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and their endeavor toward Patient Centered Care?  You may have heard of the National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quailty (NICHQ) and their endeavor to improve the standards of care for children because: Kids are Patients too!  In fact, there a lot of kids in that chasm, and this is the echo of their voices off the canyon walls, calling you to arms to address their unique needs.

We are aware that there are unique issues regarding various cultures when they seek medical care, and we're taking wonderful steps in our understanding of their unique desires and beliefs.  This endeavor is to improve the medical community's understanding of the unique desires and beliefs of another large, misunderstood culture: Children!

By improving your institutions "cultural competence" with children, you'll be creating great relationships from one of the most loyal patient populations:  Kids, and their Parents!
